PERSPECTIVES IN PARENTING WEBINAR: What If the ‘Best Path’ Isn’t the One You Think?

Parents will explore the different pathways that can lead to success and reflect on common perceptions surrounding vocational training, including why it is often viewed as a second-choice option. Through real examples and current data, participants will learn about employment opportunities, salaries, and industry demand across Quebec, while discovering how vocational programs connect directly to meaningful and rewarding careers. The session will also examine topics such as language and accessibility, gender representation in the trades, and the supports vocational centres provide to help students succeed in today's workforce. Parents will gain a clear understanding of the application process, what to expect from vocational training programs, and why this educational pathway can be a valuable and viable option. Throughout the session, participants will be encouraged to consider an important question: What would our world look like without the skilled trades?
