Parks Canada presents Archeology and Diplomacy in New France

This network activity, Archeology and Diplomacy in New France, is being hosted by LEARN in collaboration with Parks Canada. The intended audience for this session is Cycle 2 (Grades 3 & 4) Elementary students.

How did the Wendat and the French forge alliances 400 years ago?
Through artifacts, archaeological remains, and interactive elements, this educational online activity invites students to investigate the diplomatic encounters that shaped the history of New France.
Students explore the traces left by past societies, gain a deeper understanding of the roles played by the various groups who inhabited the territory, and become familiar with the methods used by archaeologists to interpret history through objects and heritage sites.

What to Expect 

Join Parks Canada experts for an interactive virtual session projected directly in your classroom via MS Teams.

• Teacher’s Role: Register, project the MS Teams link, and facilitate student responses.
• Student’s Role: Watch the presentation and participate in live polls/quizzes.
• Materials Required: A main projector/screen with audio. Student devices for AhaSlides are recommended but optional (teachers can submit answers on behalf of the whole class).
