Parks Canada presents Amazing Biodiversity at Point Pelee National Park

This network activity, Amazing Biodiversity at Point Pelee National Park, is being hosted by LEARN in collaboration with Parks Canada. The intended audience for this session is Cycles 2 & 3 (Grades 3-6) Elementary students.

Lizards, snakes, birds, even cacti – Canada’s most southern National Park is home to an incredible variety of living things! Despite its small size, Point Pelee National Park is a migration hot spot for birds and butterflies, and contains one of the highest concentrations of different plant and animal species anywhere in Canada. You’ll learn about what makes Point Pelee so special, and what Parks Canada and partners do to protect this unique place.

What to Expect 

Join Parks Canada experts for an interactive virtual session projected directly in your classroom via MS Teams.

• Teacher’s Role: Register, project the MS Teams link, and facilitate student responses.
• Student’s Role: Watch the presentation and participate in live polls/quizzes.
• Materials Required: A main projector/screen with audio. Student devices for AhaSlides are recommended but optional (teachers can submit answers on behalf of the whole class).
